Requirements Definition

CNT Infotech will conduct a walkthrough of each of the functional with the users detailing the functionality of the system. Based on the users feedback, CNT along with the users will identify the deficiencies and enhancements required in order to meet the needs of the System. These deficiencies and enhancements are documented by the CNT team for further analysis and review. For those functional modules that are not part of the base system, CNT will perform information gathering session with the users to determine the functionality required for each of the modules. The requirements analysis team uses an iterative process to expand a broad statement of the system requirements into a complete and detailed specification of each function that the software must perform and each criterion that it must meet. The developers work closely with the requirements analysis team to resolve ambiguities, discrepancies, and to-be determined (TBD) requirements or specifications. When requirements analysis is complete, the development team updates the existing requirements to reflect the updates and modifications. The finished requirements specifications describe the software product in sufficient detail so that the system modifications and enhancements are identified and performed correctly. The starting point is usually a set of high-level requirements from the customer that describe the project or problem. For internal tools, high-level requirements are often simply a list of the capabilities that the tool is to provide. The team derives detailed requirements for the system from the high level requirements. Once the detailed requirements specification is developed, CNT Infotech will present it to the Authorized Representative for review and final approval. This task will be performed for each of the modules required based on the Implementation and Roll Out Schedule determined for this project.

The following steps will be performed during the Requirements Analysis

  1. Review and Analyze the high-level requirements.
  2. Identify the functionality required for each of the new modules to be developed.
  3. For each module, document system deficiencies and enhancements.
  4. For each module, develop the detailed requirements specification based on the user defined deficiencies and enhancements.
  5. Present to the Authorized Representatives the detailed requirements specification document for review and final approval.
